In many regions this weekend begins and construction vacation begins. This traditionally brings with it the first crowds on European roads. Saturday will immediately be a red day. This is evidenced by traffic forecasts by Touring and VAB.
Our construction holiday begins with us in Antwerp, East Flanders, Limburg and Leuven. Summer holidays in Germany begin in the regions of Brandenburg, Berlin and Hamburg and in Austria in Carinthia, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol and Vorarlberg. The VAB says that the summer holidays also begin in central Holland and France.
In Belgium it will be especially busy on Saturday morning with a traffic jam in the direction of the coast, on the E411 in the direction of the Ardennes and on the E19 and E17 in the direction of Paris (orange).
Turing says Saturday is a red day for departures across France. VAB expects the first Red Saturday in Germany and Austria, with heavy traffic, especially Saturday morning. Especially on the A10 motorway, and especially in the Katschberg and Tauern tunnels, there are a lot of queues, just like the main roads to the Italian and French coasts.
In Switzerland, anticipate Touring heavy traffic with a long (red) traffic jam on Saturday and Sunday. In Italy and Spain Touring expects very difficult traffic with a long (red) traffic jam only on Saturdays.
